OUR STORY IN A NUTSHELL

Gruff Draft© is an online presence 20 long years in the making, but branded and listed only in August 2018.

With roots in Singapore, honing in South Cotabato, miscarriage in Texas, a couple of incarnations in pulp (namely, Gensan Gazer and GGQ) in General Santos, and finally a rethinking, and eventual rebirth in grand, groovy, and glorious New York City.

Let's get it straight: we're not a blog, not a bulletin, not a breaking news channel. We're a paperless magazine, and we're free.

HEALTH

— you don’t need a fancy studio or a guru to reap the benefits of yoga and mindfulness.
ART

Multihyphenate Leonardo Cariño's 2018 Indigenous Madonnas series straddles the art-and-music fence with skill and grace.
TRAVEL

Autumn in New York (not the hopelessly sappy movie shot entirely in Manhattan, NY) prevails in our fledgling list of destinations-and-seasons pairing.

TRAVEL

There's nothing quite like it — stark rock cliffs and postcard-perfect houses on bluffs, quaint shops and donkey carts, the blue Aegean and fiery sunsets — this must be Santorini Splendor.

ART

Graphic artist Marthin Millado perfects the art of harnessing the power of the the digital paintbrush in his series of vector art pieces.

TECH TALK

We're of two minds about this cool, sleek, chic piece of drawing, filing, reading, and writing pen-and-tablet pair. Read on and find out exactly why.

FOOD

Austria's stelze (close kin to the the Filipino crispy pata and the German schweinshaxe) offers little by way of novelty, but what it lacks in originality it more than makes up for in scrumptiousness.

FILM AFICIONADO

There's probably more to (op-ed by Olivia Alperstein) of the Star Wars saga than meets the eye. (Or is there?) Not so much, on the contrary, in the film (op-ed by Jill Richardson) — where clichéd stereotypes run amok.

NEEDLE IN A (MUSIC) HAYSTACK

So many albums, so little time! (Over 45 million songs on iTunes so far, and more releases every month.) Worse, how do you know which disc or download is worth your money and time? And we mean, in the long run. We know we can't give you all the answers — so how about one album at a time?
