On June 8, an earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, leaving communities across SoCSKSarGen (the region in Mindanao encompassing the provinces of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, and the city of General Santos) coping with loss, damage, and hardship. As relief and recovery efforts continued, members of the SoCSKSarGen community in the Tri-State area decided they could do something from here.
The result was a benefit concert—one that turned out to be considerably harder to organize than anyone probably expected, but highly successful in the end.
